We have two good news for Advanced Maillist Verify (AMV) users. As you know, AMV has open ActiveX/COM interface since version 2.1 and so can be easily integrated into almost any web-server working on Win32 platform. Now there are two ways to do that:

  • Through AMV COM/ActiveX interface. AMV is bundled with a few examples showing how to intergate it into Microsoft IIS and ColdFusion server from Allaire Corporation. Unfortunately, some web-servers and its extensions don't allow to execute server-side scripts with COM/ActiveX objects.
  • In version 3.0, there is another way to do what you need: through CGI/ISAPI modules. CGI (Common Gateway Interface) is a platform-independent interface. Because of its unique simplicity and some historical reasons, CGI interface is supported by ALL web-servers (except just some specialized ones). ISAPI is an alternative to CGI in Microsoft IIS web-server. This interface is very similar to CGI in many respects, but has better efficiency and more capabilities.

Second good news is The Bat! address book support. The Bat! is a powerful, highly configurable, yet easy to use, email client for the casual user or the power user, the home or the office. You can download TheBat here:

So, now you can check Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Internet Mail and TheBat address books, as well as mailing lists and databases.
